There is a fresh start with the Lord!

THERE IS A FRESH START WITH THE LORD!

“Count yourself lucky, how happy you must be—
 you get a fresh start,
 your slate’s wiped clean.
Count yourself lucky—
 God holds nothing against you
 and you’re holding nothing back from him”.

-          Psalms 32:1-2 {The Message}.

You may have messed up big time and failed the test of life woefully.
In as much you still have that breathe of life in your nostril, it’s not over with you yet, it is an indication or a litmus test for you to know and recognize that the Lord God has not finished with you yet, He has given you a new and clean slate to re-write the test.

You can pass the test if you don’t give up. Don’t give up on God because He will not give up on you. Esau failed the test of his life time and time again but Isaac did not give up on him until he passed the test of life (Genesis 27:1-7, 30-35). If people like Abraham, Isaac, Esau, Jacob, Moses, David, Peter and Apostle Paul could make it despite their shortcomings, yours is not exception. They were men of like passion like you and I. Ordinary people with extra ordinary amount of determination to reach their goals.

You remember the story of prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32. He came to his senses and said; “I WILL ARISE and go to my father…” verse 18. This father gave the lost son a chance and a new clean slate to re-write the test he had failed previously upon his repentance. You’ve got to make a U-turn. You may be at the deepest pit of hell at the moment, you’ve got to arise. You must arise and you will arise in the name of Jesus. Your destiny is not to perish with the wise men of Babylon. This predicament will not be the end of your destiny; you will see the end of your problem(s).Magnify/enlarge the Lord God in your heart. God is bigger than your problems.

The downfall of a man is not the end of his journey. No sin is potent enough to drag you to hell; it was all paid for by the precious blood of the Lamb over 2000 years now for both past, present and future. Only willful rejecting the finished work of the cross can take any man to hell.

Don’t give up on yourself! Don’t give up on God. Don’t limit yourself. Devil can’t stop you! Not even the sin you’ve committed if you can repent of them now, they can delay but they can’t stop you from fulfilling destiny. You are the only person that can limit yourself! Don’t take no as an answer. Forget the past, press on to God. Focus on your destiny! I know you will make it. Don’t throw in the towel yet, remember THERE IS ALWAYS A FRESH START WITH THE LORD!

God bless you!

WHAT DOES BIRTHDAY MEAN TO YOU?

WHAT DOES BIRTHDAY MEAN TO YOU?

Birthday is the day of one's birth; the day on which a person was born. It is also the anniversary of one's birth, an anniversary of the day on which a person was born (or the celebration of it). Birthday means so many things to many people across the globe. To some people it’s all about having fun. To some people it’s making merry and having big party. Some see it from different angles but here are my views; I perceived birthday not to be a day one drinks oneself to stupor, losing ones senses and embarrassing close relations. It’s supposed to be a day of joy, merriment and a day of sober reflection.

A day like this makes me to be more sober. It’s not as if I planned it that way but I chose to be calmed down, steady, and to reflect over so many things especially His eternal purpose for my life. Am I at the epicenter of His will for my life? Is my will not in conflict with His will? Am I fulfilling His purpose on earth? Do I just live life for living sake? Do I really make progress or not both spiritually and otherwise? Is there anything added to my life positively for the past one year now? These are the questions/things that preoccupied my mind in a day especially like today.

However, may I surprise you a bit; I hardly celebrate birthday personally although I do it for my children and wife! Please get me right; it’s not evil to celebrate ones birthday! It is not that I don’t have money to throw a big party but I ask myself; does it worth it?  Is that what birthday is all about? God gave us life and time for a purpose! Day, Week, Month and Year they are serving a purpose and it takes one who has understanding and divine perspective on this issue to really reflect and know how to appreciate God the more. David gained understanding into this, that life truly is vapour, today you are here and tomorrow one is no more. Psalm39:4-6 says;

“LORD, make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, that I may know how frail I am. Indeed, you have made my days as handbreadths, and my age is as nothing before You; certainly every man at his best state is but vapour. Surely every man walks about like a shadow; surely they busy themselves in vain; he heaps up riches, and does not know who will gather them.”  (NKJV)

Please check the same verse(s) in Amplified Bible;

“Lord, make me to know my end and [to appreciate] the measure of my days—what it is; let me know and realize how frail I am [how transient is my stay here].Behold, You have made my days as [short as] handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing in Your sight. Truly every man at his best is merely a breath! Selah [pause, and think calmly of that]!Surely every man walks to and fro—like a shadow in a pantomime; surely for futility and emptiness he is in turmoil; each one heaps up riches, not knowing who will gather them.” - Psalm 39:4-6 (Amplified Bible)

However, please did you see that our stay here is so short and temporary and if one is not careful enough one might miss the real essence, meaning, substance and significance of coming to this world? In other words, instead of jumping from pillar to post, looking for the money you don’t have to impress the people you don’t like on the day of your birthday, why not turn to God in prayer as David did in Psalm 90:12;

“So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom”. (NKJV)

I love the way “The Message” put it across:

“Oh! Teach us to live well!
  Teach us to live wisely and well!”
       - The Message (MSG)

So it is good to number our days and in numbering our days is in living wisely and well with yourself and others. This is real essence of birthday! Don’t live loosely! “Live wisely and well!” Don’t indulge in those things that will make you to regret coming to planet earth!  Love God, love your wife or husband, love your neighbor, love your friends and pray for your enemies. Be good to people, impact and affect life positively. Be an agent of change. Let it be acknowledged by all and God that you live wisely and well and you left the earth better than the way you met it. And in doing this remember you can’t do it by your strength.

You need God! You need Wisdom. Wisdom is a person; the Lord Jesus Christ (1Corinthians 1:30). Until He lives the life through you, you will not be able to live a meaningful life. He is the reason for every moment including your birthday. Always redeeming the time for the day is full of evil and remembers that it’s not how far you live on this part of eternity but how WISELY AND WELL you live in the sight of God and men.

God bless you!

We Are Being Watched

We Are Being Watched

    People with integrity walk safely, but those who follow crooked paths will slip and fall.
Proverbs 10:9

    Integrity is a high standard of living based on a personal code of morality that doesn't succumb to the whim of the moment or the dictates of the majority. Integrity is to personal character what health is to the body or 20/20 vision is to the eyes. People of integrity are whole; their lives are put together. People with integrity have nothing to hide and nothing to fear. Their lives are open books. They say to a watching world, "Go ahead and look. My behavior will match my beliefs. My walk will match my talk. My character will match my confession."

Integrity is not reputation--what others think of us. It is not success--what we have accomplished. Integrity embodies the sum total of our being and our actions. It originates in who we are as believers in Jesus Christ--accepted, valued, capable, and forgiven--but it expresses itself in the way we live and behave, no matter whether we are in church on Sunday or at work on Monday or in a lonely hotel room on Tuesday or suffering in a hospital bed on Thursday.

Unfortunately, integrity is in short supply and seems to be diminishing everyday. All too frequently our integrity is discarded upon the altar of fame or fortune. Sadly, what we want to achieve is more important than what we are to be. Integrity is lost when we focus on expedience more than excellence, on progress more than purity, on riches more than righteousness.

People are watching. They watch to see if our behavior matches our belief, if our walk matches our talk, and if our character matches our confession. In a word, they watch to see if we have integrity.

How secure is your walk? God is watching, devil is looking for opportune time to strike and others are watching.

MAKING SENSE OUT OF NONSENSE IN NIGERIA!

MAKING SENSE OUT OF NONSENSE IN NIGERIA!

Many priests were saying Christians should react to incessant bombing by Boko Haram. Bishop Ayo Oritjafor asked Government to give people the freedom to carry guns. Bishop David Oyedepo demanded for the country to be divided, and so many unimaginable comments from people. My question is; will all these solve our problems in Nigeria?   How did we get to this level? I remember those days when we used to hear about suicide bombers and bombing we quickly think about Afghanistan. Now bombing is synonymous to Nigeria, what a shame! I really love to make sense out of nonsense that is going on here Nigeria.
Could we just stop and think for a moment perhaps God is the One punishing the people for their persistent unfaithfulness because the word of God says; “when a land sins against Me by persistent unfaithfulness, I will stretch out My hand against it; I will cut off its supply of bread, send famine on it, and cut off man and beast from it.” –Ezekiel 14:13. I do not subscribe to Boko Haram activities but they might be the hand God said He will stretch forth? They might be the whip/rod in His Hand to correct the people/church madness in Nigeria.
Innocent bloods are being shed daily. Corruption has reached it peak. Family life has been disintegrated. It seems people don’t have respect for life and blood any more. Evil is all over and the church seems to be weaken and blinded by its so called prosperity. What prosperity? We had forgotten that prosperity without purpose is worst than Hurricane. Church has left her duty and serving tables. Pastors succeeded creating greed in people. They continue to strengthen the hands of the wicked so that he does not turn from his wicked way to save his life (Isaiah 13:22). They keep giving feign hope to people saying; peace when there is no peace. Can a nation have peace outside the Prince of Peace?
However, What do we need to do? I believe as a people and as a country we need REPENTANCE! God is ready and able to purge and heal our land – II Chronicles 7:14. We need to humble ourselves as a church of the living God. The state of the church is the state of a nation. Only righteousness exalts a nation not corruption (Proverbs 14:34). Let the people return to the Lord. Church needs to go back to her first love. God has no business fixing the society/nation when His house is in mess. Let the true revival begins Lord. May the good God grant us a servant leader like David who will understand that government exists for the security and welfare of the people.
Conclusively, “There is hope for a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its tender shoots will not cease, though its root may grow old in the earth, and its stump may die in the ground, yet at the scent of water it will bud and bring forth branches like a plant” – Job 147-9. There is hope for Nigeria! All hope is not gone.  Nigeria will conquer her conquerors. This country is not going to be divided!  God is in Nigeria. There shall be a New Nigeria! God has not abandoned His people. All will be well.
God bless the federal republic of Nigeria!
